What might the medicine and care cost?

Ask for the ongoing total. A starter offer or a medicine-only price does not describe a whole care plan.

Why do I see such different prices?

As of September 26, 2026, a drug company’s published price, its price for people paying without insurance, a discount-card price, an insurance copay, and a government-program price could all be different for the same medicine.

The company’s published price is called the list price. Its cash price is what it charges people paying without insurance. A copay is the part you pay through an insurance plan.

Ask which kind of price your quote uses.

Can a low starter price go up?

As of September 26, 2026, the government listed a $199 monthly starter offer for semaglutide (Ozempic pen).

It covered only the first two monthly supplies for new patients paying without insurance, and only the starter amounts named in the offer.

The amount of medicine per shot is its strength.

The offer covered starter versions with either a 0.25 mg label or a 0.5 mg label. The letters mg mean milligrams, a measure of the medicine amount.

Ask the pharmacy to confirm in writing whether the amount on your prescription qualifies for the starter price. The offer terms are in the chapter note below.

The prescribed amount of medicine set the later monthly price: $349 or $499.

December 31, 2026 was the end date for those introductory terms.

This is an example of a medicine offer, not a quote for your care. Ask what the price becomes after an offer ends.

Is the medicine included in a monthly fee?

On the online weight-care pages checked as of September 26, 2026, most services charged a monthly membership fee, with medicine costing extra.

That does not tell you what your own quote includes. Ask: does this monthly fee include the medicine, or will I pay for it separately? Get the full total in writing. Compare the same medicine and care over the same length of time.

  • Visit or membership charge.
  • Medicine charge and the quantity the quote covers.
  • Any tests, delivery or supplies charged separately.
  • Price after the offer and terms for ending payments.

How long can I rely on an offer?

As of September 26, 2026, many cash offers and savings-card terms ran through December 31, 2026, so later prices require a fresh check.

Keep the dated quote. Ask what happens if the medicine, visit schedule or payment plan changes.
