Chandler · a care guide

Care checks

Who would make and send the medicine?

A care service may use a different name from the pharmacy supplying its medicine. Request the pharmacy’s full name.

Why ask about the pharmacy separately?

People using online services may not know their compounded medicine’s maker or the rules that apply to that maker, says the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

A compounder is the person or facility that makes a custom medicine. Ask for that name in writing. Then compare it with the name on the medicine label.

What does Arizona require?

A pharmacy outside Arizona needs an Arizona permit to send medicine into the state, as of October 3, 2026. A current pharmacy permit, or equivalent permission, is also required from its home state.

The pharmacy’s permit and an individual pharmacist’s licence are separate checks.

Ask for both permit numbers and the names of the boards that issued them. Ask Arizona’s Pharmacy Board to confirm the Arizona permit, and the home-state board to confirm permission there. The source notes below explain the rule.

What does FDA tell readers to look for?

FDA’s pharmacy checklist calls for a valid prescription, a state licence, and a licensed pharmacist available for questions.

FDA also says a convincing website can conceal an unsafe pharmacy, so appearance alone is not enough.

Keep those checks together. A polished page or a low price cannot fill in a missing answer.

Does a badge prove the medicine is approved?

As of September 26, 2026, registering a place with FDA or putting a medicine on its drug list does not mean FDA approved the place or medicine.

Ask what the badge means: is it showing a pharmacy permit, a registration, or approval of this exact medicine? Ask for the matching record and an explanation of what it proves.
